Nikhil has made history as the second Indian-born cricketer to participate in the BBL, following in the footsteps of India U-19 World Cup-winning captain Unmukt Chand. In his debut match against the Perth Scorchers, the right-handed batter immediately captured the crowd's attention with a scintillating innings of 40 runs off 31 balls, only to be dismissed by the left-arm quick Jason Behrendorff.
