Manohar tops the table at paddlers' tourney

Hyderabad: Former table tennis champion B. Manohar Kumar showed he still hasn’t lost his touch as he won the men’s 40+ title at the first Veterans Table Tennis tournament at Prof. Jaya-shanker Indoor Stadium in Lalapet, Hyderabad.

Manohar emerged victorious by thrashing Rama Rao Aleti with a 11-13, 11-2, 11-4, 11-8 scoreline in the final.

In the men’s 50+ final, P. Suresh defeated MVN Kishore Kumar 11-7, 10-12, 11-4, 7-11, 11-9.

Nataraj Sharma pulled out his top game by beating Y. D. Upender Nath 14-12, 11-6, 11-3 to win the men’s 60-64 final. In the men’s 65+ final, G.V. Ranga Rao had it easy against K. R. Srinivasa Rao 11-1, 11-3, 11-5.

C. Srinivasa won the men’s 70+ final, with a comfortable straight-games victory over Ramana Prasad that ended 12-10, 11-2, 12-8.
