MANILA, Philippines — Classes were suspended in many parts of the country on Monday, November 11, due to Tropical Storm Nika (international name: Toraji). Based on the state weather bureau’s 2 p.m. bulletin, nine Luzon areas were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 as Nika intensified on Sunday afternoon. The tropical storm is forecast to reach the typhoon category within the next several hours.
