Manila stretches liquor ban from day before BSKE until All Souls’ Day

MANILA, Philippines --- The local government of Manila has declared a liquor ban from the day before the 2023 Barangay and Sangunniang Kabataang elections (BSKE) on October 29, until November 2, All Souls' Day. The liquor ban will extend after the ban imposed by the Commission on Elections for the BSKE. In an executive order released on Thursday, Manila Mayor Maria "Honey" Lacua declared the ban "to take into consideration the somberness" of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.
