Magnitude 4.7 quake hits Isabela

CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela -- A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck a coastal Dinapigue town in Isabela at 2:43 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said in a bulletin. The quake, which was tectonic in origin, was traced 18-kilometer deep off northeast of Dinapigue town. It was recorded at Intensity 2 in Santiago City in Isabela, Casiguran in Aurora and Maddela in Quirino. It was logged at Intensity 1 in Baler, Aurora. Multiple aftershocks were also recorded. No damage and injuries were recorded by the police and disaster response councils in Cagayan Valley.
