DATU HOFER, Maugindanao del Sur, Philippines -- An employee of the National Irrigation Administration and his daughter survived an ambush in Barangay Labu-Labu in this town on Monday. The local police reported that Ismael Gudal was driving his vehicle when he was attacked by several gunmen ambushed near the Labu-Labu Bridge not far from an Army checkpoint at around 6:30 a.m. Gudal was driving his daughter to school in Esperanza town in Sultan Kudarat province when ambushed.
