5.6-magnitude quake hits coastal area of Isabela town

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela--A 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit the coastal area of Maconacon in Isabela on Sunday afternoon (April 23), the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said in an advisory. Phivolcs said that the quake hit at 5:19 p.m. It was recorded 55 kilometers deep and was tectonic in origin. The quake was recorded 18 km north and 17 km east of Maconacon.
