Pasig City suspends classes, rolls out free ride services on transpo strike week

  MANILA, Philippines --- Pasig City will suspend face-to-face classes and offer free rides to commuters who will be affected by the week-long transportation strike starting on March 6. In response to the government's public utility vehicles (PUVs) modernization program, around 40,000 PUV drivers in Metro Manila are expected to join the week-long strike despite the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) extension of the traditional jeepney phaseout to December 31.
