MANILA, Philippines --- An election officer was shot dead in Maguindanao on Monday, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec). Citing an initial report from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Comelec said the officer, identified as Haviv Maindan, was killed along National Highway, Purok Libas, Brgy. Pinguiaman, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat at around 2:30 p.m. The PNP investigation showed that Maindan was traveling with another person in a car from the municipality of Sultan sa Barongis when they were attacked.
