COVID-19 infects 39 more Filipinos abroad; 23 new recoveries reported

MANILA, Philippines --- The total number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases among overseas Filipinos has reached 9,754 after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 39 new infections on Sunday. According to the DFA, 23 new recoveries were recorded in the Americas and Middle East/Africa region, bringing the total of recovered patients to 5,783. Meanwhile, 3,263 are still undergoing treatment. No new fatalities have been reported, the DFA added. The death toll stands at 708. In the Philippines, the COVID-19 caseload neared the130,000-mark with 3,109 additional infections.
