Most of the concerns of Indian parents are about what society thinks of them. Indian society is so interconnected, or assumed to be so, that parents and family members do not dare to do something that does not come within society’s standards. The fear of society is so deeply rooted that sometimes kids are forced not to pursue a career because of that.
