Maharashtra's suspense over the new chief minister is expected to end as BJP's state legislature party meets to elect a new leader. Devendra Fadnavis is the frontrunner, while Shiv Sena prefers Eknath Shinde. Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani will oversee the election. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled at Azad Maidan on Dec 5.
