Senior Citizens Act not a tool to settle property row: Bombay high court
High court held that the basic idea behind Senior Citizens Act is to ensure that elderly parents are restored the residence rights that was gifted to the child/ren. HC said the objective under section 23 (1) of Senior Citizens Act in enabling a tribunal to revoke such gift is based on the intent to ensure the basic needs are protected.
