Former minister and BJP MP Jayant Sinha has announced that he will not contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Sinha wants to shift his focus towards combating climate change in India and globally. He has requested party president J P Nadda to relieve him of direct electoral duties. Sinha plans to dedicate his efforts to combating global climate change and will continue to work with the party on economic and governance issues.
