He rejected the offer as it was temporary and not provided in writing. Hassan believes that if the government intends to compensate him, the value of the house should be matched. He has been living on the footpath and protesting against the drive, appealing for support from the public. Hassan demands that his house be reconstructed on its original site and threatens to go on a hunger strike.
