Bombay high court allows petitioners including housing societies and charitable institutions to apply for conversion of leasehold land to freehold ownership by March 7. Maharashtra government fixed new method for lease rents and renewals in December 2012. Conversion fees must be paid within 21 days of demand notice. The State's March circular provides for rents between 0.5 to 1.
