Former CM Ashok Chavan joined BJP in the presence of deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. The plan was given the final shape at a meeting with Ashish Kulkarni, who had worked in AICC as a strategist. Kulkarni played a crucial role in identifying the Shiv Sena MLAs who defected to Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.
