AIIMS starts study to assess indigenous HPV tests for National Cancer Screening Program. The study aims to make HPV test affordable, reliable, and internationally validated. Cost and accuracy are the main concerns. AIIMS is also conducting a pilot study on urine testing as an alternative screening method. WHO calls for elimination of cervical cancer through vaccination, screening, and timely treatment.
