ASI shoots self to death during night duty in Delhi, probe on
In a tragic incident, an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Delhi Police reportedly took his own life with his service revolver in the BP Marg area during the night between Friday and Saturday, as confirmed by an official statement. ASI Ramavtar and SI Prem Singh were on night picket duty at BP Marg, and around 3 am, Ramavtar advised Singh to take a 10-minute break. Later, Singh found Ramavtar had shot himself in his car. Originally from VPO Chithroli, Haryana, Ramavtar joined Delhi Police in 1993. An investigation is underway.
