Delhi shivers as minimum temperature plunges to 3.9 degree Celsius, season's coldest

On Friday, the national capital experienced its lowest winter temperature, reaching 3.9 degrees Celsius, three degrees below the seasonal average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This marks the lowest minimum temperature recorded in the past five years. Dense fog enveloped many parts of Delhi, causing zero visibility at the Palam Observatory at 5:30 am. The Indian Railways reported delays of one to six hours for 23 trains heading to Delhi due to the fog. The Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 am, based on Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, was recorded at 348, falling into the 'very poor' category. The IMD also reported a relative humidity of 100 percent at 8:30 am. The maximum temperature for the day is expected to reach around 17 degrees Celsius.
