Delhi leads cities that lag in meeting clean air targets

Delhi recorded the highest PM2.5 levels among the non-attainment cities under the National Clean Air Programme, with an average PM2.5 of 102 micrograms per cubic metre in 2023, a 2.5% increase from 2022. The city also had the second highest PM10 concentration at 208.4 micrograms per cubic metre. Despite a marginal improvement in PM2.5 levels since 2019, Delhi still has a long way to go to meet the 40% reduction target set by NCAP for 2026.
