An 'electronic issue' caused the breakdown of an AC electric double-decker bus near Mantralaya on Monday night, as reported by sources within the undertaking on Tuesday. They clarified that there was no mechanical fault in the bus. The incident raised concerns, especially since the AC double deckers have not completed a year in Mumbai. Former BMC opposition leader Ravi Raja demanded an inquiry into the unwarranted breakdown and emphasized the need for the undertaking to have its own staff checking wet-leased buses for proper maintenance. The bus, which stopped mid-way, was repaired promptly, and the other AC double-deckers are reported to be operating without issues.
