The state government on Monday issued an order hiking the compensation paid to farmers whose crops have been affected by floods and hailstorms in November 2023 and the unseasonal rains that followed. A decision on this had been taken in the state cabinet on November 19, 2023. Under the state disaster relief fund (SDRF) the limit is Rs 8,500 per hectare for non-irrigated crops, Rs 17,000 for irrigated crops and Rs 22,500 for perennial crops upto the limit of 2 hectares.
