JJ Hospital resident doctors join strike in solidarity with dermatology colleagues

Nearly 900 resident doctors at JJ Hospital in Mumbai will boycott outpatient services indefinitely, joining their dermatology colleagues who have been on a 10-day strike to demand the removal of their department head, Dr Mahendra Kura. The Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) has indicated that their protest may escalate if Dr Kura is not removed. A two-member committee has investigated the allegations against Dr Kura, but the state is yet to take action. The doctors allege mental torture, harassment, and poor medical decisions under Dr Kura.
