Sandeep Singh is on one-man mission to save rare veena which croons like peacock

India's musical heritage was showcased at the G20 summit with 78 artists playing rare Hindustani, Carnatic, and folk instruments. The Mayuri veena, a 17th-century instrument with the face of a peacock, took centrestage at the Mahindra Kabira Festival. Sandeep Singh, the only A-grade Taus player in India, played the Dilruba for G20 guests and the Taus for the Kabira festival audience. Singh is training 20 students in the classical tradition of playing the Taus, and he believes that the tribe of Taus players will grow.
