40-year-old animal feeder, Nandini Belekar, has been recently facing harassment from a group of local residents at Breach Candy, Mahalaxmi area, over the feeding of close to 100 cats. As the aggressive mob threatened to beat her if she feeds the stray cats as their `religious sentiments' were being hurt due to the nonveg food placed on the road. The feeder had to call the local Gamdevi police station every night for protection to do cat feeding in that area.
