India navy swiftly responds to distress call in the Arabian sea

A warship and a marine patrol aircraft were diverted by the Western Naval Command in Mumbai in response to a distress call of hijacking of the Malta Flagged Vessel MV Ruen. The Indian Navy swiftly responded to the distress call from the cargo carrier MV Ruen and deployed platforms to assist the hijacked vessel with 18 crew onboard. The Indian Navy aircraft overflew the hijacked vessel and continuously monitored its movement towards the coast of Somalia.
