The NCRB report reveals that sudden deaths in 2022 increased by around 12%, with nearly 57% of these deaths being due to heart attacks. Sudden deaths are defined as unexpected fatalities that occur within minutes from any cause other than violence. The report also states that sudden deaths accounted for 13.4% of total accidental deaths in 2022. Maharashtra recorded the highest number of sudden deaths, followed by Kerala and Karnataka.
