NCERT does not differentiate between 'India' and 'Bharat': MoS Education

The NCERT, under the Union Education Ministry, acknowledges the constitutional recognition of both 'India' and 'Bharat' as the official names of the country. The NCERT does not differentiate between the two and is revising school textbooks in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The high-level committee for social sciences constituted by the NCERT has recommended replacing 'India' with 'Bharat' in school textbooks. The NCERT is yet to make a decision on these recommendations.
