A 38-year-old construction worker, Mukhtar Alam, fell to his death from the 14th floor of an under-construction building in Malad West. The incident occurred while he was engaged in brick work on the 14th floor without any protective equipment. His brother, Iftekaal Alam, who was assisting him, left briefly to fetch more bricks and returned to find Mukhtar missing. He later found a slipper belonging to his brother near a pool of water inside the fire lift duct. With the help of co-workers, Mukhtar's unresponsive body was retrieved. The police have registered a case of negligence and an FIR has been filed.
