On CM Eknath Shinde's order, BMC looks to cloud seeding to clean air

The civic body in Mumbai, BMC, is planning to conduct a cloud seeding experiment to settle pollutants in the air and tackle air pollution. The decision comes after the chief minister directed the civic body to explore the option of cloud seeding. The BMC is expected to float a tender within the next 15 days and hopes to roll out the exercise by December. The exercise may cost between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 50 lakh and the success rate of rain generation through cloud seeding is 50%. The BMC will study successful cloud seeding exercises in Dubai and other locations.
