Mumbai airport handled record 1,032 flights on Diwali weekend

The Mumbai airport set a new record on November 11 by handling 1,032 flight movements in a day, surpassing its previous record of 1,004. After a decline caused by airline closures and the pandemic, the airport is now handling over 1,000 arrivals and departures daily. It is classified as a single-runway airport, unlike other major airports that have parallel runways. The increase in flight movements has also led to a rise in passenger numbers, with over 516,000 passengers during the Diwali weekend.
