Bengali community looks forward to annual Kali Puja on Diwali night

Various pandals in Mumbai will host Kali Puja, a nocturnal ritual performed by the Bengali community, during the Diwali weekend. The Bengal Club of Shivaji Park has been organizing the puja for 88 years, starting at 9.30 pm and continuing till the wee hours. Tejpal Hall in Gowalia Tank and other venues will also hold Kali Puja with rituals including ghatsthapna and pushpanjali. The Bassein Bengal Club installed a new idol of the goddess for the puja, while other Bengali communities in Chembur, Goregaon, and Kandivli East will also celebrate Kali Puja.
