Scammers in India are increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI) to target individuals who spend a significant amount of time reviewing and verifying messages. A study by McAfee found that 82% of Indians have fallen for fake messages, with the most common scams involving fake job notifications and bank alert messages. McAfee emphasizes the need for AI-driven defense solutions to combat these scams, as they continue to increase in scale and sophistication. The study also revealed that Indians receive an average of 12 fake messages or scams each day via email, text or social media.
