Congress MLA Girraj Malinga from Dholpur's Bari seat in Jaipur has joined the BJP, citing harassment in the Congress and false charges against him. Malinga surrendered and was arrested last year after two engineers were allegedly assaulted at the electricity department office in Dholpur. Malinga claimed that despite being a Congress MLA, the chief minister did not listen to his demands to change the investigating officer. Malinga, along with other local Congress leaders and the youth wing president of the Aam Aadmi Party, joined the BJP.
