A passenger train collision near Vizianagaram killed three and injured several. The Visakhapatnam-Palasa train had halted, awaiting a green signal when it was struck by the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada train. This caused three Rayagada train coaches to derail. The authorities fear the death toll may rise due to severe injuries, and the operation was hampered by darkness at the scene.
