City cops rescue nearly 99% of girls missing, kidnapped in 5 yrs

The Mumbai Police have successfully traced and rescued 98.7% of missing or kidnapped minor girls in the last five years. The police recorded 6,735 cases of girls below 18 years going missing or being kidnapped, and 98.7% of them were reunited with their families. The south region of Mumbai had the highest detection rate of 99.1%, while the wider north region had the lowest rate. The success is attributed to methodical police work and adherence to standard operating procedures. The high detection rate contributes to Mumbai's reputation as a safe city for women.
