Residents of Shivaji Park in Dadar held a sit-in protest demanding the removal of red soil that has allegedly worsened pollution and caused health hazards. The red soil was part of a beautification project initiated by the BMC, but residents claim it has led to increased dust pollution. BMC officials have assured the residents that the red soil will be removed soon. Local MP Rahul Shewale has also announced plans for an automatic air purification system in the park. Experts suggest that different measures need to be implemented to mitigate the health impacts of different types of particulate matter.
