Delhi-NCR brace for 'very poor' air quality as Centre implements GRAP 'Stage II' measures

The Centre's air quality panel has instructed NCR authorities to raise parking fees as part of the 'Graded Response Action Plan' (GRAP) to tackle pollution. The plan aims to discourage private transport and improve the use of CNG or electric buses and metro trains. The Commission for Air Quality Management has predicted that Delhi's air quality may deteriorate to 'very poor' levels on October 23 and 24 due to unfavorable meteorological conditions. The plan has different stages with corresponding actions, including halting construction work, banning certain vehicles, and implementing online classes and remote work arrangements.
