The Delhi administration has urged the Union Ministry of Environment to impose a comprehensive ban on firecrackers and diesel buses in the National Capital Region (NCR). The appeal was made during a meeting between the central government and state representatives. The Delhi government proposed various measures to tackle pollution in the NCR, including banning firecrackers and stubble burning, transitioning to cleaner fuels, and promoting electric and CNG vehicles. They also organized a run to raise awareness about air pollution and plan to relaunch campaigns to combat vehicular pollution and discourage the burning of firecrackers.
