Students at Delhi University organized a Pride vigil to protest against the Supreme Court's decision not to legally recognize same-sex marriage. The vigil, organized by the Student Federation of India (SFI) and the All-India Students' Association (AISA), attracted about 100 people who expressed disappointment and called for marriage equality. The SFI criticized the lack of clarity in the judgment and the failure of Parliament to implement previous directives on LGBTQ+ rights. While the judgment received criticism, it was acknowledged that the directions to police on handling cases involving queer individuals with sensitivity were necessary.
