How early rain, Yamuna flooding impacted life cycle of dragonflies

A recent survey of dragonflies and damselflies in seven DDA biodiversity parks in New Delhi has shown that the early rain and flooding of the Yamuna River have impacted their life cycle. The flooding resulted in the absence of marshy areas, which are preferred habitats for these insects. The survey also found that four of the seven parks had fewer species compared to last year. Wetland restoration in some parks led to an increase in species, while extreme weather patterns affected the development and movement of the insects.
