2015 double murder case: Artist Chintan Upadhyay found guilty of conspiracy, abetment

Artist Chintan Upadhyay has been found guilty of conspiring and abetting the 2015 double murder of his estranged wife Hema Upadhyay and her lawyer Haresh Bhambani. Three others were also found guilty. The court will hear arguments on sentencing on Saturday, with the prosecution pushing for the death penalty. The trial, which began in August 2019, concluded on September 1. The bodies of Hema and Bhambhani were found in boxes in December 2015. Chintan is accused of holding a meeting with one of the suspects, Vidyadhar Rajbhar, and had a motive of a matrimonial dispute.
