The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena, has announced plans to revamp the city's 49 rural villages and provide them with basic amenities. Saxena expressed disappointment at the poor condition of the villages, which lack proper roads, drainage systems, and cleanliness. The Delhi government has a fund of Rs 800 crore for village development, which will be handed over to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to be used for the identified works required in each village. Saxena also laid the foundation stone for a sports complex in Qutabgarh village, which is expected to be completed next month.
