An entrepreneur in Mulund, Mumbai, was allegedly denied office space by a housing society's secretary and his son because they were Maharashtrians. The incident resulted in a police complaint being filed and the arrest of the secretary and his son. The complainant, Trupti Devrukhkar, stated that the secretary made it clear that the society does not rent properties to Maharashtrians. When Devrukhkar tried to record their conversation, she and her husband were abused and manhandled by the son. The accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
