104 pedestrians lost lives in Gurgaon in 8 months: Police

According to police data, pedestrians account for one-third of the fatalities in road accidents in Gurgaon. In the first eight months of this year, pedestrians were involved in around 35% of the accidents, resulting in the deaths of 104 individuals. Lack of pedestrian safety infrastructure and speeding are identified as the main reasons for the high number of pedestrian deaths. Efforts are being made to improve road design and develop walkable streets, including the development of footpaths and construction of foot overbridges. The Gurgaon Vision Zero project aims to reduce fatal accidents and improve road safety.
