Delhi saw 68% surge in child trafficking after pandemic

A recent report compiled by Games24x7 and Kailash Satyarthi Children's Foundation (KSCF) reveals a significant increase in child trafficking cases in Delhi since the Covid-19 pandemic. Delhi recorded a 68% increase in trafficked children, while Uttar Pradesh saw a nearly six-fold increase. The report indicates that the national capital has become a hotspot for trafficked children, with over one-fourth of rescued children coming from Delhi. The industries employing the most child laborers are hotels and dhabas (15.6%), family-owned automobile or transport units (13%), and garments (11.18%).
