The German Embassy in India has reduced the visa processing time for travelling to Germany from India to around eight weeks. Georg Enzweiler, the deputy head of mission at the embassy, said the reduced wait time was part of an effort to encourage Indian tourists to visit Germany and that continued progress was being made. The embassy has also increased staff numbers in Mumbai to help improve the application process.
