Maharashtra govt sets up SIT to probe 'BMC corruption'
In a major development, Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde on Monday ordered a Special Investigation (SIT) team — headed by Mumbai police commissioner Vivek Phansalkar — to probe the findings of Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) into Rs 12,000-crore contracts by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and register an FIR as per procedure.
