Days after union home minister Amit Shah ruled out any disintegration of Manipur, Kuki groups have reiterated their demand for a separate administration. The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), the apex body of the community, has reportedly shot off a letter to Shah, alleging there was a “direct and open threat” to the Kuki people from the majority Meiteis and that the “total separation” was the need of the hour.
